ABOUT US

ROSS RECORDS — the award-winning composer duo Leon Ross and Elena Ross — a powerhouse of innovation, capable of any genre, style, and emotion with precision and artistry.
Combining strong melody writing, Australian and Eastern European cultural musical influence,
fusing electronic music production with elegant orchestration and ethnomusicology.

With over 100 credits including but not limited to science fiction, psychological thriller, animation
fantasy and drama, Ross Records has built a reputation for unique and bold approach to every
project. They composed the hypnotic ancestral main theme for Universal Pictures’ feature
animation The Lost Tiger (2024), and the bold genre-merging Black Holes Suck (2025) sci-fi
rom-com feature blending Jerry Goldsmith and Don Davis – inspired orchestra, electronic music,
jazz/funk, and ethnomusicology. “Sounds brilliant, you have gone above and beyond, and
produced quality, quality work!” Pauli Wheeler (Producer of BHS)

Mentored by George Papanicaloau (Australian Composer), Angel Velez (Hollywood conductor/LAFCI co-founder with David Newman) Conrad Pope (John Williams Orchestrator)
and Booker White & David Giuli (Disney & Hans Zimmer Orchestrator), Elena conducted and recorded original compositions with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra at Warner Bros’ Eastwood Scoring Stage

Recent collaboration on John Jarratt’s feature directorial debut What About Sal (2023) further
demonstrated their expertise in heightening narrative psychology and drama. “Best bloody
music and sound team I’ve worked with” John Jarratt (Actor & Director)

Original Score for dir. Riley Sugars and award winning actor Stephen Curry Hatchback (2022),
winning IFFA 2023 Best Short Film, and 2022 AACTA Best Short Film nominee, signed by AACTA
President Russell Crowe.

In 2025, they received a Special Mention at IndieFest for the evocative score to the silent
picture TV Movie Their American Dream (2023) directed by Darrin Mckean.
Currently working on 4 feature films and 7 short films in 2025 in their newly established Ross
Records Melbourne Studio Facilities doubles as a creative hub for post-production music and
mentorship. Leon is a film scoring professor at Box Hill Institute, having guided over 100
emerging composers and supervised scores for 200+ films through collaboration with BHI,
Deakin and Swinburne Universities.
